Bachelor’s degree programmes

From the winter semester 2005/06 the existing degree programmes leading to a university of applied sciences diploma will gradually be replaced by degree programmes leading to a Bachelor’s degree.

A Bachelor’s degree programme leads to a professional qualification which is relevant to the demands of the employment market and is also the requirement for entry to a Master’s degree programme.

The normal study duration is three years. 60 ECTS credits have to be acquired per year, and completion of the programme with a Bachelor’s qualification requires 180 ECTS credits. This corresponds to a workload for students of about 1800 hours per year, divided into
– Classroom instruction: approx. 30-40% (i.e. lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and/or practicum etc. )
– Guided self-study: approx. 10-20%
– Self-study: approx. 50%
