The purpose of the foundation is to promote the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur both non-materially and materially. To this end, it maintains close relations between the university and interested parties from the world of work and the community at large. In addition, it promotes and supports activities which are necessary to secure the ZHW’s future – but which otherwise could not find financing – in particular through

a) Provision of financial support for application-oriented research and development and its transfer to the world of work, as well as necessary facilities for research and teaching at the university.

b) Provision of contributions for exceptional needs in continuing education on the part of the teaching staff, and for the execution of special education projects. (Extract from the Statutes, Article 3, Purpose)
